As the school year is quickly approaching, I would like to welcome everyone back for the 2024-2025 school year! As the new principal of Fronteras Spanish Immersion Charter School, I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and to work with your children to help foster a positive learning experience.
Our family is thrilled to be a part of the community. We had a whirlwind summer between selling our Oregon home and purchasing a home in the Wasilla area. We have been quite busy.
I come to you with a strong background in dual language programs. My husband is a native Spanish speaker, having been raised and he worked as an elementary teacher in Mexico. We have a language rich home life with both Spanish and English being spoken, and we raised our children to speak both languages. We have spent a lot of our summers in Mexico. The Mexican culture is an integral part of our home life. I believe strongly in the power of bilingualism and the skill opens many doors, as well as making a person stronger in both math and science.
We have 5 grown children and 6 grandchildren who we adore. I enjoy gardening, camping, kayaking, and traveling with friends and family. We look forward to exploring the area and getting to know our neighbors.
Please know I have an open-door policy and I encourage you to come in and talk any time as a way of getting to know one another or to address a concern you may have about your child’s education.
My first official day is August 1st. I will be in and out of school this week. I am available this Friday, August 2, if you would like to stop by for a visit, please call to schedule a time to meet, 907-376-2223. Enjoy the final weeks of summer break! I will see you all soon.
Take care,
Sandy Pérez
